Solar/Atomic is the way to go.

I've got a couple of good self-winding watches, but every weekend I take my watch off all day Saturday and they run low and start losing time. This watch always has perfect time, never needs wound, and won't ever need the battery replaced. I put a canvas band on it, and it's super.
