Not the quality I expected for the price we paid

The instructions were very lacking. The fixture hangs from the ceiling with a chain and down rod; the image on the instructions made it clear that the down rod could be cut for your application (rather than relying solely on the chain for lower ceilings). It cannot; it's threaded only on each end. They could have easily threaded the entire length but they did not. It didn't look very good with only the chain so I tapped the piece of down rod I'd cut and used it. I shouldn't have to modify a brand new product. Thread the entire down rod (or at least change the drawing on the front of the instructions). Several of the sockets are crooked; I'm afraid to straighten them because it might break the medal. The fixture WAS packaged well so I would guess that this is related to poor quality control. When we bought the fixture, we knew the ring had extra holes that had been covered evidently from an earlier design. Be aware of this weirdness before you buy.
