A short enjoyable read.

This book was short but well written. Ruby was a stalwart child who exemplified the African American race and set the pace for others. Her inner strength was remarkable. Her mom I lift my hat to. A book that all should read. It made me sad to see such hate in people towards children, but I'm glad there was love and love was triumphant . Reading this book made me love and appreciate my West Indian childhood more than ever. Thank you for bringing so brave Ruby.
