My new laptop has an HDMI output, but no VGA. At home, I dock my laptop to a VGA monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse and use it like a desktop. This adapter is exactly what I needed to use the new laptop with the VGA monitor. It also breaks out the audio so that I can hook up external speakers . It is working beautifully and I can highly recommend it.

Great little item - I used this to hook my Nintendo Switch up to an old projector for some Theater-Sized Mario Kart fun. The adapter worked perfectly, fitting the 6:9 HDMI screen in letterbox format to the projector's max resolution. It is a compact adapter, so it fit very snugly on the Switch dock's HDMI port. Worked perfectly for my needs, but if this is a permanent install solution, you might want to look for something a bit longer, as the strain will eventually harm the connector.
