Served its purpose

Installation was simple, and complete within about ten minutes, including the time to hang the curtain. I did not use the included cable support because it didn't seem necessary, as I screwed the mounting brackets directly into solid wood. I would be leery about not using it if I had opted for the glue-on or wall anchor installation method. But if you use the cable support, you will need to use two shower curtains. My three-star review is because this curtain rod's quality does not really reflect its price. There's nothing truly wrong with it, but you're paying for the fact that it's a less common item. There is nothing inherently special about it, other than the fact that it has a 90-degree bend in the middle; if not for that, it would be a $10 shower curtain rod. The included hangers are low quality, and I accidentally broke one while hanging the curtain. But it works for what I needed, so I'll keep it.
