Risky purchase

I bought this because it was a great deal. Worked great at the beginning (for a few months). However, I've had non-stop issues with it for the past 4 months, and it has been sent out to be fixed 3 times. I don't know if I just got unlucky with my laptop, but I wouldn't recommend it. Next time, I'm going to Best Buy.

Sold a used defective unit advertised as new

Unit advertised as new; Purchased in early January, arrived promptly, registration with ASUS stated the warranty expired for that SN in November '25. After a decent amount of troubleshooting over weeks to try to understand some of the video artifacting I was experiencing, I nailed it down to a Marginal Capacitor on VRAM Power Delivery Rail. DelightTechElectronics was so slow to respond I had already sent the unit to ASUS for repair. By the time DTE got back to me, they offered to receive the unit back but it was already returned and working. All I really wanted was the money for the repair which cost $658.03. Also be mindful that the AllState protection plan I purchased with the unit does not cover manufacture damage or dysfunction that arrives with unit, only subsequently occurring issues, so being honest about this situation prevented me from using that to get recompense. (After a multi-tier conversation, AllState did refund the $99 that I spent on the premium). I was briefly in touch by email with DTE but they have stopped replying to my re-sends. As follow up, the unit arrived from ASUS with a new motherboard that had a defective dGPU, they for no cost replaced the board again and now unit is working fine. The laptop itself is a fine product when working and the model I chose which has an all AMD CPU, iGPU and dGPU is ideal for my Fedora Linux use case scenario. Really have no complaints about the unit now that it is finally up and running, I'm just out the $658.03 to have a used, defective unit that was advertised as brand new repaired.
