I’m one of those people that if I find something I like, I tell everyone I know (and on occasion, strangers...like you) about it. And I really like the ZenToes!!! Dare I say, LOVE them!!! In my day-to-day life, I’m very on the move and that, surprise, involves my feet. I also practice Krav Maga, which is, basically, fighting without rules (BTW, a great way to learn self-defense.) We kick a lot!!! And that’s where the ZenToes come in. Recently, I tore my big toenail off, and when I say ‘I’, I mean, I shredded the top of my foot when I used my Thor-like strength to rip open the old wooden door that was painted shut. You’re welcome for the visual. Circling back to Krav Maga, you can train with or without shoes. I normally wear shoes, but since my toenail incident I had been training barefoot. I was very frustrated because Band-Aids were not staying on. Especially when I’d get a good sweat going and one of my amazing kicks, which should have been captured in slow-motion, would send the disgusting Band-Aid flying across the room. So, I tried the ZenToes...and let the celebrating begin! It stayed on!!!! I do prefer training for Krav with my shoes on, but I had concern about the ZenToes bunching up. Fortunately, the inside is gel-lined and not only kept them in place, but also provided a nice protective cushion. There was no bunching!!! Since it takes nailbeds awhile to heal, it did take some careful finagling to comfortably place them on and take them off my toe. As you can imagine, I’m thrilled that I can re-use the ZenToes. A quick wash and they are good to go. You can’t do that with a Band-Aid.... When I was reading the description of the product online, I didn’t quite appreciate what five tubes meant. I was focusing on the diameter of my toe, and I was surprised when I opened the package to find five six-inch tubes of protectors. Yes! There are so many different toe lengths in my family, and now I have the ability to protect all of them, which means I now have another super power to add to my repertoire. You can also get the ZenToes in different diameters. Since I have older kids, we use the Size: Large. Hey, guess what my first aid kit now includes? Yep, ZenToes! We live in the mountains and no stinkin’ blister is going to keep us from enjoying a hike. One thing to keep in mind, supervise those who don’t always stop to think before doing something. I suggest cutting the tube to the desired length WITHOUT the tube sticking off your toe. It was a wonderful teaching moment. Teenagers .
