I haven't read an Amish story quite like Samson and Amish Delilah but this isn't meant as a critical comment. Author Thomas Nye shares dual stories about two young women named Delilah and even though I thought the story was a little slow at the beginning, I soon found myself eager to learn more. Nye uses many twists and turns and some hidden secrets and as I continued to read, I began to understand the importance of finding the real Amish Delilah and the reference to Samson in this book title.
Forgiveness is a central theme in this story and the words of Delilah's grandfather explain it best. "If you realize that your own sins put Jesus on that cross, then you can forgive others." These are words that are practiced daily by Amish people and they are what all of us should try to do! I also appreciated that the importance of being raised by Godly parents was shown in both Amish and English families.
This is my first Thomas Nye book and I wonder if perhaps he will continue the story of Dave, Delilah, and a great little boy named Earl?
I received a copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
