so, im from chicago born n raised. im currently working in another state that hasnt even HEARD OF ITALIAN BEEFS! called 5 sandwhich joints n they said, a what?...... almost had an aneurysm. so. does this compare to al's, pookies, even portillos? (which idc what you say portillos is oooook) nah, the meat no matter what you do feels microwaved. the ajus is seasond well ill give it that but its a faint reminder of those held under till the bubbles stop beefs we know n love. HOWEVER. To ANY chicagoan in my situation yea buy it. get some hot giardiniera some REAL mozzarella n french bread n maybe broil it with the meat bread n cheese. i dont have an oven down here capable.

im sure the real deal from chicago is much better, beef turns tough and chewy, no real depth of flavor in the gravy
