2Pack D-Ring Recliner Release Cable Replacement
I've had the recliner for about 5 months, use it a lot. Then the D-ring release cable broke. I ordered these and they arrived in 10 days, really fast. I ordered two so i would have a spare. The cable works perfectly. It's a little longer than the original where you grab the D-ring, I don't have to dig down to grab it. To replace these on my chair I had to flip the chair upside down. Then extend the footrest by using pliers to pull up on the release bracket where the old cable connected. Be really careful of where you put your fingers. Then I used a string or rope to pull the new cable into the chair along side the old cable. I unhooked the little metal piece on the old cable where it connects to the release bracket and hooked the new cable in. If you don't extend the footrest there won't be enough room to unhook and hook. I had to make sure I routed the new cable where the old cable ran so it would not get stuck in the chair mechanics. Then I flipped the chair onto its side so the cables were on the floor side. There is a bracket secured with phillips screws that holds the old cable by the D-ring. Remove the screws and seat the new cable bracket there and put the screws back into the holes. Then pull the old cable out. My chair has material covering the screw holes so I had to locate the original holes. Maybe use a toothpick to locate the holes. My chair is back. Very happy with the product and shipping transit time.
