This is a great alternative to an eight frame honey super! The smaller boxes are much easier to handle and are quite sturdy. The frames are well made, though the foundations are not waxed. My only issue with this product is that there are only three frames per box and a lot of extra room that the bees will use to put comb in, possibly connecting the frames together and making it difficult to check during an inspection. I realize that this is due to the boxes needing to be the same size as an eight frame super, but some sort of space-filling piece could be used so that the frames stay properly distanced.

This is a nice set of hive bodies. Nicely made, smells good and all the parts were included. But, it doesn't fit any standard hive body. We made a new super to fit. Like a seven frame. It's not worth the trouble to reinvent the hive. I think these will make a really cute mailbox.
