Assembly? For me, at least a day; for my grandson, about an hour. Does look very nice, a little retro. Does hold quite a few albums on top and divided shelves below. The back of the cabinet is folded cardboard- may not be the correct term but the back of the unit is a somewhat flimsy folded panel. However, it's the back, it's not on view, and does hold up. I did purchase it on sale, so I am pleased with it. Looks very nice.
