The Sea Eagle Explorer™ features a super rigid, high pressure, drop stitch floor that sits on top of an outside floor. This has several advantages. The high-pressure Drop Stitch floor provides great rigidity and super responsive paddling performance. The reinforced outside fabric floor provides a double layer of added protection so it can bounce off rocks, logs, and other objects. Super-fast self-bailing with 16 floor drains that can be left open for wet whitewater and ocean kayaking or closed for high and dry flat-water paddling. The Explorers also features a removable slide in skeg for improved tracking on open water and now comes with the FlexBrace2. An ergonomic, customizable footrest adjusts to 20 positions quickly & easily. Enables increased performance, handling, and powerful efficient paddle strokes. Just lift the FlexBrace2™ with your foot & move to a comfortable setting. New lever-action rods make removing rods & pedals quick and easy for compact storage. For greater back support our 300X Pro Carbon Kayak package features a Tall Back Seat plus an upgraded top end, super strong, Carbon-Fiberglass Shaft Paddle. Without the keel the kayak spins
I really wanted to love this kayak. Its well-constructed and seems very durable. I do a lot of kayaking on rivers where the water level can get shallow. The boat tracked well with the keel inserted. But in the shallow sections I would have to remove all my gear from the boat, flip it over and remove the keel. Without the keel the boat spins way too much. It's annoying because I like to take photos. I also couldn't seem to get comfortable. The seat bothered my rearend after a while and I couldn't find a good placement for my heels in the boat. After four hours in the kayak my back was so achy. I used a hard kayak for 25 years and loved it. I purchased the inflatable for portability and easy storage but it's not for me.
