Poor design for water delivery

I purchased two of these for the aesthetics. Unfortunately, the design is not conducive to proper water flow and drainage which presents an insanitary water output. The ultimate result is visible black microbial contamination coming out of the faucet thus we are unable to use the faucets in a normal fashion to brush our teeth or clean our faces with the water from these. The 90-degree design with the horizontal outlet allows water to stagnate. To make matters worse, the restrictor is not easy to remove and if removed is not easy to replace. Our plumber even gave up on getting it removed and left. I finally got it removed after destroying several of the removal tools which are made of hard plastic in attempts to be able to clean the inside of the outlet with that space open, but the water doesn't flow properly without the restrictor. Unfortunately, the restrictor further increases the microbial load as it holds the water inside the faucet. I called Delta to ask them to upgrade to a more expensive option and told them I would happily pay the difference and return these to them. The model I requested (Vero) does not have a mesh restrictor at the outlet and features curved design at the to facilitate water evacuation after use rather than stagnate. They told me "No" and that I would have to "repair" these, so I again explained that it was not a repair issue but rather a design issue, yet they still kept insisting that it indeed was a repair issue. I asked to speak with someone else but was denied multiple times. I hope this at least helps someone else with a future purchase. I will note that other than this Delta has been great at dealing with any other issues I've had but this has clearly been disappointing. I think if I'd had the opportunity to speak with the design folks, the outcome may have been different. I also work in product design and manufacturing, so I know first-hand that design issues are simply a way of making things better and we always serve the customer no matter what. Please note we've lived in this home for over 20 years with two other faucets having no prior issues.
