first of all there is no headboard on this bed. second of all it is solid. it's about 3,000 lb weight capacity for this bed which I can't even get on my people in my family together for that amount of weight so imagine it's going to be lasting in the rest of your life. I got this one for my grandson I have one myself . but it is a 8,000 lb capacity. I'm crazy about mine I don't have to use any screws or anything like that It opens up and and it's got the slots for the middle support which goes right into the other metal I'm glad they finally made something that wouldn't fall down on you in the middle of the night or anywhere any other time. we also bought a mattress and that is amazing when you have to items that work well together it gives the bed good support from the bed and my grandson describes it as it's a soul snatcher, as soon as he hits that bed he has out like a light he is sleeping so well on this bed and I never have regretted it not one time. can't say enough good about the bed frame It is solid as you can get and if you buy a mattress of which it comes in a box I had doubt about it too and the mattress that I got was also I cooling mattress was in there in this memory foam . Man it's awesome You got to get you one You won't regret it. My grandson's bed is a twin size extra large.. it's probably on the hype it's probably baby about 14 in from the floor You can get different heights but that was my choice. gives you enough room to put things under the bed for storage. And it is very sturdy
