In the picture, it looks bigger than it is. Its definitely not a center-room lamp. Its an accent light for a corner or side of the room. I was looking for a shade for my hanging plug-in light over my pool table, not a whole hard-wired light kit (my fault, I didn't read description thoroughly). I like it though, and its a great value for the price, so I will keep it and try to find a use.
