Simpson Strong-Tie HUC hangers are the concealed flange version of the HU joist hanger. Concealed flange hangers have the face flanges turned in. The Strong-Tie HUC28-2Z concealed flange hanger features a G185 ZMAX galvanized finish for added corrosion resistance and requires the use of hot-dip galvanized fasteners which meet the specifications of ASTM A153. Most models have triangle and round holes. To achieve maximum loads, fill both round and triangle holes with common nails. These heavy-duty connectors are designed for schools and other structures requiring additional strength, longevity and safety factors.
