Great little device. Does excellent job of cutting pills, even into quarters. Very thoughtfully designed unit. Tablet doesn't crumble into small bits but cuts into equal portions. (Works better than the blue rectangular model which also purchased for comparison.) Perhaps the little yellow “pill holder” in this one helps by gently holding the tablet in place for cutting whereas the blue device has none. (Some better instructions might be nice to have but easy enough to figure out.) Tips: Open the device, then slide the yellow holder back and place the tablet in the yellow ‘v'. Next, gently slide the ‘v' back up until the tablet is secured and centered properly in place ready for cutting. Gently and smoothly close the lid to cut the pill. Job done! To cut 1/2 pills into 1/4's, place the half pill curved side down and centered in the ‘v' and repeat the above procedure. Can also adjust/slide the yellow ‘V' into position when the lid is closed by using the slider from the bottom side of the cutter.
