If you don't screw it in somewhere (like me) the rubber will not stay on. I had to install it with double sided tape under my car seat so I wouldn't use the screws. It's ok thought, supposed to be a concealed item so I don't mind the cover doesn't stay on. Overall works great!

I had no idea these things existed. So we recently became gun owners and I think this was great for storing our gun in a safe accessible location. I'm surprised how well it works. I mounted mine on the door panel of my truck, using strong 2 sided tape. It holds surprisingly well. I was worried it would drop down if when i slammed my door, but it hasn't come loose once. It's surprisingly easy to remove as well. The trick is to not pull it straight off, but bend it on an angle first. Hope the need never arises to use it, but I feel comfortable having my gun in a convenient place.
