it is marvelous for my LARP activities, However the only real downdall is that it makes a load of noise inside the sheath because it doesn't have much and the sheath is really just a PVC pipe that is slightly oblong. other than the noise, it is fun. It is a stiff foam with a definite core of what feels to be plexiglass.
