My Life As Poseable Mermaid Explorer 18" Doll, Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes

Be careful opening the doll packaging, I sliced my finger on the cardboard, so I do NOT advise allowing an excited child to tear into without adult supervision. This 18” My Life As a Mermaid doll is very pretty and durable. Her eyes are the BLUEST with long lashes on the closing lids (when she is laid down) and painted eyelashes on the upper immobile lid (a bit weird looking when she is “asleep” but I'm sure a child might not even notice). Her rooted blonde hair is not quite as blonde as I was expecting, but is actually a very pretty golden color, and quite voluminous. It would have been nice to have an included hairbrush, but not something that I would deduct stars for. There is also a starfish hair barrette, which I believe is removable. Her sparkly and colorful mermaid dress has a hook & loop closure in the back, making it easy to remove. It seems that she might be able to stand upright if not for the nature of the form-fitting mermaid gown which restricted her leg movement. Her sandals are basically flat, so I think it might be possible. The sewn seams and edging on the dress are surprisingly even and straight. Her head, upper chest, arms, and legs are vinyl and all joints rotate to many different degrees. The other part of her torso and bummy are flesh-toned fabric stuffed with some kind of poly filling. This adds to her flexibility and “snuggleability”! I was quite surprised at the quality, although the doll is not as top-notch as the well-known name brand (based upon accompanying library of books), it costs 4-5 times LESS than that name brand! So, unless your child is a die-hard for the well known brand due to either peer pressure, associated stories, or just snobbishness, the My Life As dolls are most definitely the way to go!

This mermaid doll is so beautiful my daughter loves it so much. This doll is my baby's favorite doll now it's well designed and clothes are so amazing. It closes eyes when lie down and open eyes when stand. It is easy to carry and not heavy for my 10 year old daughter. I am so happy that she loves and named her bobby. I will definitely recommend to my friends and family.
