KEEN Women's Targhee Vent Mid Shoe

After years (decades really) of abusing my feet, they started getting even with me. About 6 years ago I started wearing Keen Targhee II low and mid. Since then Keen have been just about the only shoes I can wear without pain. I wear them year round in all sorts of conditions including ice, snow, and rain. I was very happy to see this version and jumped on it. I ordered my usual half size larger for Targhee and the fit is perfect. Stepping into a new pair of Targhees is like coming home -- instant comfort with no break in required! This boot is modeled on the new Targhee III, and I have to say all the changes are spot on. I find it has the same support inside as the older model. The tread is redesigned and I feel is more aggressive and will provide better traction on many surfaces. I also think the sole is a little different in that there is a slight flair at the outside edge of the fore foot which increases stability and proper foot alignment (I tend to throw my right foot out, but not while wearing these). My feet are cooler in this vent than they are in the regular Targhee. I'll just need to remember these are water resistant rather than water proof. Definitely keepers!
