I bought 3 of these in satin nickel - 1 for each of my exterior doors - along with the matching deadbolts for each door.
Installation is as simple as any other door knob. Rekeying using the SmartKey system is also simple - just take your time with this, because one slight misalignment and it will not work, and you'll have basically ruined the knob and need a replacement.
These look fantastic. But I would definitely not recommend. Here's why...
About 1 year after I got these I noticed that they started to "stick" on the tumbler when trying to unlock with the key - you have to press on the key 50 times before it "clicks" and the tumbler turns and unlocks. Sometimes it works better to turn the key the opposite direction until you feel the "click," then try to quickly turn it back in the correct direction. But this only works about 20% of the time. It is so bad that we ended up locking only the deadbolt rather than spend 5 minutes trying to unlock this knob every time we came and went.
I reached out to Kwikset and to their credit they sent me a new replacement pretty quickly. But here I am a year later, and it's started doing the exact same thing.
Man, it's gonna be expensive to change out all three knobs and deadbolts, yet again. But that's exactly what I'm doing, because I don't want to go through this for as long as I own this house - either locking only the deadbolts or spending 5 minutes in the rain, snow, etc trying to unlock my darn door. It's just ridiculous...I feel like it must be due to the way the tumblers are constructed in order to work with the SmartKey system. But I'm simply going to go back to Schlage.
