It was fairly easy to use. My husband actually made a paper stencil so that it would only spray on the areas we wanted it to. The reason I removed some stars in the rating is due to the fact that it did not look like fuchsia on my daughter's hair. Maybe it was due to her 4b textured hair but I just wanted the buyers to note that it looked more like a dark burgundy on that textured hair.
