I've had my sort of canister/hand held (it comes with a strap that I put over my shoulder and I have both hands free) for about 15 years. It was an add on when we bought our upright in 2005. I was interested in the people who complained about the square hole in the place where you attach the bag and the fact that the part coming from the vac. is round. I think this is the first time I have ever taken the bag out of its housing, but I did notice that the bag attachment is square. The small appendage coming from vacuum is not perfectly round. It has a flat piece of plastic that slides into the bag and also has a fabric filter. And guess what? After using this vac with these bags for 15 years, there was not a speck of dirt or dust in the bag housing! Flawless!

I have had my Oreck vacuum and hand held vacuum for over ten years. I bought them together. I appreciate the filtration bags that go with them because they work well. they don't allow the dust and odor to go back into the air. They are not over-priced either.
