Generally I am very happy with this ludicrously-low-priced camera. Internally it uses a entry-level ultra-inexpensive/tinkerer's camera control module: IPG-X2-WR2 from Hanzhou Xiongmai Tech (support software/firmware can also be downloaded from the web site of JFTECH ) Like virtually all cameras that are this cheap, the Android software (iCSee or Onvier) leaves a lot to be desired. In my experience, I just used the Android app to setup the camera and then updated the firmware of camera to January 2025 release. The firmware version that I am happiest with is V5.00.R02.000807B9.10010.346524.S.ONVIF 21.06. Before this firmware update the ONVIF compliance level was poor. After the update, the camera works really well with just about any standard PC software (and even Mac or Linux) that support the ONVIFor RTSP protocol. I tested it with the freeware/trialware vesion of AnyCam as well as ODM version 2.2.250 on my Windows 10 PC. Video and still-snapshot qualities are good for daytime. Night time quality is barely acceptable. Too bad there is no vehicular subject detection capability. All things considered, this type of product works best for someone who is comfortable with contemporaray software (and knowledgeable). I suspect that casual users or impatient users will be frustrated with this camera. Tinkerers might enjoy the camera more as it is 'open' to ONVIF standard and it is relative easy for disassembly/reassembly. I had a good time learning/exploring the camera and whole-hearted recommend it for tinkerers and tech-enthusiasts but NOT for casual inexperienced users.
