Dip sticks

I bought this for my 2006 GTO because it says it is designed for it. I can not use the factory dipstick and I can't put the oil filter on due to the rack and pinion ever so slightly in the way. If I can't use the factory dip stick why does it not say the factory dip stick won't work and suggest the part that will? When it comes to the oil filter you could also suggest a remote mount set up.
