Eye candy that delivers great information too!

The New Heirloom Garden is a beautiful work of art, first. Every page has an inspiring photo or garden drawing to inspire even the most reluctant gardener. I couldn't help feeling I wanted to get outside and create my own carefully planned work of art. To help you not get in over your head, Ellen starts with good advice, to start with a long-term plan. This is so helpful if you've ever removed lots and lots of sod, only to lose momentum at the size of bare soil uncovered, and have weeds take over. Each step is detailed to help you succeed, and create a garden you can manage and be proud to have in full view. There are many interviews with seed savers and experts to learn from. No less than 12 designs to plan or get inspiration to make your own garden, all drawn to scale with tips for growing. Favorite heirloom varieties are described, and delicious, photographed recipes follow to show you new ways to use your harvest. This is a complete work that would make a terrific gift for yourself or any gardener/foodie you love. They will love you back!
