Very solid, thick metal, but the seat is cheap, and the red cover is thin and tears easily. It would have been easier to have adjusting pins on the bottom rather than bolts. Instructions are horrible, the pictures are horrible, they name the part without any pictures so you get to guess what part it is. I like that there is a little pocket to put tools, but it won't last long. It's cheap and thin. There wasn't a single nut I could twist on myself. All of them got stuck as soon as you put them on, so you had to use a wrench on each side at the same time to tighten every bolt from the tip, all the way until it was tight. I had to guess how to attach the ladder. The Instructions may tell you, but they don't show you. They also label the parts in the Instructions, ex. A, B, or C, but none of the parts are actually labeled, so you guess the whole time. I would still recommend the product for the price. I haven't used it yet, but I'm not worried about something going wrong for the main purpose of the item. Even though the Instructions are for the birds, it isn't that difficult to figure out.
