Athletic Works Men's and Big Men's 8" Active Rice Hole Mesh Shorts, up to 5XL

Husband and son love these traditional “rice hole” mesh shorts. These are true mesh shorts where there are actual holes punched through the material for breathability. If you're looking for true mesh make sure to look at close-up pictures online of any listings that say “mesh” or see the fabric in-store. I have seen shorts advertised as “mesh” at multiple stores %26 on websites where the material has been INDENTED to look like it's mesh, but holes have not been punched through the material. Cheaply made and these do not allow airflow obviously.

I had an AirmannFirst Class try these out. He has become quite an expert on workout clothes. These shorts are awesome. They are made out of lightweight material. Elastic waist with a drawstring. In military clothes, he wears a medium. These were medium and true to size. He liked that they were a bit longer than some running shorts. After he modeled them for this review, he took them back to base with him. He says they are his go-to for running and for sleeping in the barracks. And yes, if you look at the picture, you are correct, that I’d a baby goat in our living room. Another story for another day. In the past year, I have become a sewist (a person who sews, because sewer gives the wrong impression.) I’ve started looking at fabric and construction on everything. These are sewn well. No loose strings or unraveled places. The mesh is not so flimsy that you could easily poke a hole in it. The drawstring doesn’t slide out at the slightest tug. I was pleased with everything about these shorts. A good value.
