What can I NOT say about this Lucid Restore Bamboo Charcoal and Aloe Infused Memory Foam Topper. I love love love it!! I did extensive research on memory foam toppers to find the best fit for me that did not break the bank. I have a king size bed so everything is more expensive when it comes to bedding if you want good quality. Being a larger woman (5'8. just over 300lbs), it is very important to have something well made and comfortable to sleep on. I'm sure my fellow fluffy peeps would agree. If the bedding is not just right, we have back aches, side aches, neck aches, and the list goes on.
In my research for bedding I found that medium to firm, 4 or more inches, and a thick density in a topper is best for larger people. I had a very expensive 18 inch memory foam mattress that was 7 years old and as I gained weight, it created a large dent since not only did I sleep in my bed, at the time I sat on my bed every night for about 4/5 hours before going to sleep (which I found out was really bad for a mattress). Sooooo...I got a king mattress from a friend when she downsized her bed to a queen and found my first Lucid topper on Ebay. Loved it from the first night. I purchased the 4 inch topper then too. Used it for 2 years. Then....being the frugal person I am with money, I went with a cheaper, thinner topper......BAD IDEA!! I regretted that from the moment I laid down on it for the first time. It was only 2 inches thick, way too soft (which is not recommended for larger people), and I was having to hold on to my headboard so I could pull myself out of the bed in the morning because I was in so much pain.
Well, after about 2 months of dealing with the pain of the useless topper, I bought a 10 inch firm memory foam mattress and this wonderful medium-firm 4 inch Lucid topper. I sleep like a baby again, don't wake up in pain, and actually feel the good effects of getting proper sleep now. This topper is so easy to set up, I did it by myself while hubby was at work. It is a little on the heavy side, especially when it is in the box. When you get it on your bed though, it's just cutting the plastic open and letting it expand from there. I have seen a lot of reviews that say there is a smell but I didn't experience that. I suck my nose down on the topper and found that it has a smell, but it's not as potent as others have made it sound. The first one I purchased years ago only took about 4 hours to fully expand and I slept on it that night. This purchase took about 7 hours. I think the expansion time just varies for every topper. I also really like the height this 4 inch topper adds to my bed.
This is the second one I have purchased and it definitely will not be the last.
