This is a charming installment in an award-winning series. It's an easy to read chapter book, with nice illustrations throughout. Overall, it's a delight! The story is told from the perspective of a classroom's pet hamster who is taken to a town pet show. The hamster doesn't talk to humans, but has lots of human-like thoughts about things. It's a fun story with a warm ending. Our hero hamster — and children who read the series — can learn some great lessons about friendship.
