don't waste your time or money

One star only because a star is required. I bought this for my son's 6th birthday. I expected more from the TONKA name. After three hours of trying to build this with him he was frustrated and crying that his hands hurt from trying to put the pieces together, some I had a hard time putting together. We finally got the sections built and went to construct the tower. There was nothing holding the crane in place strong enough, it couldn't even hold a paperclip without falling off. The base is poor construction, the legs kept falling off. It says 280 pieces, that's because where a large 4x4 plate would have worked 16 1x1 were provided. We didn't even bother putting the people together, it the decals. Already started the return.
