Sanctuary

The Adagio Trio was founded in 1985 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kathryn Daniels, Michael Daniels, and Linda Grieser, the founding members, have performed regularly for recitals, religious services, weddings, and receptions. In 1990 Michael took the position of Co-Principal Cellist with the Virginia Symphony, and the Daniels moved to Norfolk, Virginia. The trio continued to work together performing in the Virginia and Cincinnati areas. Since 1997 the Adagio Trio has recorded five CDs. quot;Stillpointquot;, quot;Sanctuaryquot;, and quot;Evensongquot; are collections of classical, folk, Irish, Jewish & Christian music. quot;Winter Giftquot; is a collection of non-secular Christmas music. In 2008 they released quot;Celtic Heartquot;, a recording of their arrangements of Irish, Welsh, and Scottish music. Their music is heard on public radio stations throughout the country. The trio, for the most part, creates their own arrangements and uses familiar tunes such as 'Ashokan Farewell', 'Shenandoah', 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring', and 'On Eagle's Wings'. The unique combination of harp, flute, and cello provides a fitting compliment for meditation or relaxation. The group has been featured on public radio stations throughout the country including ones in Minnesota, Virginia, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Oregon, and California. Their music has been featured numerous times on WHRO radio in Hampton Roads and WGUC-FM in Cincinnati. In the first six weeks, the 'Stillpoint' album sold over 1000 copies. Their albums have evoked many positive responses from people across the country.
