This is exactly as listed: a vertical sturdy plastic storage box for outdoor use. I personally wouldn't want it to be left completely unprotected, as I think it's water resistant but not waterproof, but it's working quite nicely out on my covered patio, where it's neatly storing some of my currently unused larger, heavier plant pots. It's a vertical storage box, so the pots are stacked inside it, with of course the larger ones on the bottom and then the smaller ones stacked on top. I think the largest pot size that would fit at the very bottom (the storage box is slightly tapered, so it's a little wider at the top than at the bottom) would be a 12-inch pot (measurement of the diameter of the opening of the pod). When the box is empty, it's fairly light and to move around, but it also feels sturdy enough that I'm not worried about it falling over from strong winds (unless there's a tornado, and if that's happening, the possibility of this box falling over would be the least of my concerns, lol). Even with the heavier pots stacked up inside this storage box, I'm still able to move it, although it's definitely more challenging because of the heavier weight. The lid of the box fits well, and it's easily lifted off and put back on as needed. The main reason I chose to get this storage box was because I needed something that could store some of my potting supplies out on my patio without being an eyesore. This storage box helps keep my patio neat, and I also appreciate the fact that, while I'm sure small insects could enter this box if they're on a mission to do so, the fact that I keep the box closed when I'm not looking for empty pots is hopefully going to keep most insects out. I definitely don't want to take the lid off the box intending to look for a pot and be startled by a giant spider (and yes, I know spiders are arachnids, not insects, but I'm still lumping them all in together). Another cool thing about this storage box is that when the lid is on, it becomes a small outdoor table, which is a bonus if space is an issue. I live in an apartment, and I prefer to keep as many of my potting materials as possible outside on the patio, as I don't have any enclosed outdoor storage space, and it's also just so much easier to have that stuff outside where the plants are. I'd been searching for storage box or bin that would be very useful, sturdy, and unobtrusive, would take up minimal space, and could handle being in a covered outdoor space full-time. And voila! Here it is. For the record, this exact item was also available at Home Depot for a while earlier this year, and for about $3.00 less than what I paid for this one at Walmart, but I'm not mad about that, lol. It's a decent quality storage bin/box that serves its purpose well, and I'm glad I purchased it. I wish had been priced at about a third of what I actually paid for it, but we're all having to deal with rising costs, and that's a lifelong situation.
