Hall's favorite film of his short career is The Sadist (1963) The film tells the story of a homicidal maniac and his girlfriend who go on a killing spree across America. The story is based on Charles Starkweather and his girlfriend Caril Ann Fugate. This film would predate the lauded film Badlands by ten years and it would be another 20 years before the same story was told in Natural Born Killers.
