shurflo fan disappointed

I have bought dozens of shurflo pumps over the last 20 yrs. The 2088 serries has been very reliable and strong pumpers. This new "revolution " series I will not buy again. I tested this pump against the 45 psi 2088-594-154. The 2088 won by a long shot. 1st of all , it was not very "self priming", would not even suck water up 2 feet with tight fittings., I had to get water up in the pump so it would start . second, it reached its peak(55psi?) at the same height as the 45psi pump, and with only less than a third of the flow Ended up with less than half a gallon a minute. There is something in the "revolution" design bypass system which makes this pump pretty wimpy.
