As usual when picking up a book by Susan May Warren, I was unable to put this book down. Believe me when I say my daughters tried to distract me, but it only worked for a minute here and there. A Matter of Trust is the third book in the Montana Rescue Series. I was blessed to read the other two in this series, but don't feel it's necessary to enjoy this book. That being said, Warren is my favorite author, so I totally suggest you read the other two. We meet Gage in the first book, as well as the other members of the PEAK Rescue team. They are an amazing and interesting group of people who save lives. This story follows Gage as he tries to figure out what he's meant to do with his life.
Gage was meant to be on a snowboard. His numerous awards and medals prove it. But one little mistake can change your life in a heartbeat. He was on top of the world one minute, and the next everything he loved was taken from him. Trying to figure out what his purpose is now, Gage joins the PEAK Rescue Team. Time has passed, but he still holds on to the anger and blame for of the death of another snowboarder. Gage has a chance to help rescue a kid who wants nothing more than to be just like him. Following Gage's world famous trail down a dangerous mountain, everyone worries the kid will get hurt and stuck up there. Only Gage has ridden this mountain, and knows just how dangerous it is. But what will he do about it?
Being a hero is no easy thing. Ella knows that Gage can do anything he sets his mind to, and she intends to set it on saving her brother. Asking such a favor from the man whose world she helped tear apart seems crazy. You can call her crazy, but she knows that Gage is a good man. Forcing her way in the rescue mission seemed like a good idea at the time, but Ella quickly learns she is in over her head. Danger is around every corner, and her being so close to Gage is bringing up all kinds of feeling on both sides. Can they find common ground and get the job done? Or will their lack of trust cause them both to fall?
It was so much fun reading his book. Warren transported me to the cold Montana mountains and I was shivering while waiting to see what would happen next. I loved getting to know more about Gage, who can resist a hunky snowboarder? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Contemporary Romance. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishing. I was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
