The Andersons SmartPhos® DG 4-22-0 is a professional-grade all slow-release fertilizer designed to provide a season-long feeding of highly plant-available phosphorus. Unlike traditional phosphorus products, SmartPhos is made with struvite and utilizes our patented technology. The result is a formula that offers low water solubility, allowing for a slow, steady supply of nutrients over an extended period of time without losing plant availability. This ensures the nutrients released over time are able to be used by the plant. SmartPhos will remain stable, eliminating the risk of nutrients being leached or tied-up in the soil. SmartPhos DG 4-22-0 is made with an extremely small particle and includes The Andersons patented DG Technology. Upon contact with water, each granule disperses into thousands of microparticles that quickly move through the turf canopy into the root zone for superior coverage and enhanced efficacy. This product is ideal for newly planted lawns. It has a low salt index so it won't burn new seedlings and can be used at half the rate of traditional starter fertilizers while delivering the same results. SmartPhos DG 4-22-0 can also be used in mature lawns with low phosphorus levels. It is ideal to apply SmartPhos DG 4-22-0 ahead of nutrient blackout periods.
