Excellent LEGO Build

As a LEGO enthusiast, I found the set a highly enjoyable build. Other than a few technical elements, building the set is fairly easy and could be built by children if they have previous experience building sets of similar difficulty, such as the 2012 LEGO Star Wars Malevolence. The set also is amazing to display. Measuring over a metre tall, it even looks impressive compared to sets like the Millennium Falcon and Hogwarts Castle. Being able to take the set apart into the different sections of the rocket makes the rocket even kore realistic and true to the Saturn V itself. The only fault is that the rocket can brake at times during the build so at points it can be frustrating however, the finished product makes up for it. The smaller LEGO microsets that come with the rocket are surprisingly detailed and are great sets by themselves. They also make a nice change in set type after working on the Apollo Saturn V for 6+ hours. Overall the set is a great build for nearly all ages and can be appreciated by everyone, no matter their experience in LEGO building.

Perfect nod to the space pioneers

In the year of the 50th anniversary of the first man on the moon, this set showcases what man achieved in the 1960's, in scaled down format. And when this set is built, it is a wow moment & you can only wonder at what the gargantuan real thing must have been like to experience first hand, because this completed Saturn V is big enough! The outer box sets the scene, you get a build instruction manual with some insight to the Saturn V & this build for me was like a good book, once started I couldn't stop. Took me about 8hrs over a night & morning to build, when finished, as a fan of all things space, I had a big grin on my face! It can't help but bring the kid in you out. All in all, worth the time & money invested. Sadly they didn't approve the launch pad/tower, I understand why & I hope Lego continue to fire the imagination with sets like this going forward, especially as manned missions to Mars seem inevitable.

Roger Houston, we are go

500+ reviews can't be wrong! This is a magnificent LEGO set, a beautiful model to display, and a wonderful tribute to the engineers at NASA that built this behemoth! The complete model is huge, and the build process is challenging and stimulating. Building the different launch vehicle sections gives you some idea of the complexity of the real Saturn V. I was really impressed with the internal structure, your basically building from inside out, I did not expect to see the actual fuel tanks etc. There are some really nice touches here, such as side pieces held on with connectors made with red, white and blue bricks, US fans will love that! What really brings over the scale, are the tiny micro-figure astronauts. The Eagle lander is really neatly done, and I like the 'splashdown' diorama as well, with one deflated balloon. You can put the Eagle and Columbia together if you take apart the escape tower, so there is everything here at a frankly amazing price point. Fantastic value for money, a real classic set!
