Lionel Ready to Play John Deere with Remote Battery Powered Model Train Set

Even though I've never owned a train set I still know the Lionel brand name so I was curious about the set from the start. The set has everything you need to get started even if you're a novice like me. This set contains twenty four curved and eight straight pieces of track, the engine, a boxcar, a coal car , a caboose and a wireless remote. The only thing you need to supply is three AAA batteries for the remote and the six C batteries for the actual train. The track is a heavy plastic that easily snaps together or apart when taking it down. There is enough track to make a circle, a square or an oval layout. I took pictures of a circular layout to show how big a tree it would fit around with Christmas coming up. The remote syncs with the train once all batteries are installed and both the train and remote are switched on. The remote is super easy to use and gives you both forward and backward movements as well as the sound effects which are bell, whistle and music options. This train set is perfect for a starter set, your kids or as a set for around the tree base this Christmas. It's not only easy and fast from box to playtime but it runs strong and seems very durable.

My 5 year old son and I really love this train set. The quality is great and it's very sturdy. The sound is not too loud, but it's a train set so it isn't going to be quiet either. I like that the remote is simple enough for a 5 year old to understand and operate. The remote has buttons to make the train go forward, backwards, bell, whistle, and a conductor sound. Also an on and off switch. The remote control will need (3)AAA batteries because it's not included. The Lionel Trains John Deere Ready-to-Play Train Set comes with 4 different train pieces. The front train will need (6)C batteries that are not included. That front train also has an on and off switch and a headlight. This train set comes with enough straight and curved train tracks to make a few different round shapes. One problem I did run into was the trains falling off the tracks. Making sure the tracks are flat on the ground fixed that problem for me. It works well on both hardwood and carpet no problem. The only other thing that was a bit annoying was trying to line up the trains on the track while trying to keep them connected. But overall I would definitely recommend the Lionel Trains John Deere Ready-to-Play Train Set. Both me and my 5 year old have a blast playing it.
