Stops airflow and sound too. When we took out the carpet and have just the hardwood floor, it left a larger gap under the door. Heat and air cond. would escape into the hallway. Also, talking, music, tv, etc was extra loud coming from under the door. This stopped the sound too. The Door Guard tends to want to slide off a little at a time when he door opens and closes so I took a small piece of duct tape and taped it to the door in one spot near the door jam. The tape is barely noticeable and it stays in place now.
