is it authentic? the cap is plastic, not metal

The initial musk is strong. my kids kept their distance but they dislike strong scents anyway. After 30 minutes when the initial musk dissipated, it was much more pleasant. My issue is with the plastic cap. I'd expect better from an authentic Cartier.
