Worth It
I was not expecting for this dog bed to be such a game-changer, but wow! My dog loves jumping in the front seat when I'm driving, but ever since I installed this, she just sits or lays patiently until we've arrived to our destination. It's just her natural response to the design, I think. I also love that it has a doggy "seat belt" that keeps her secure during our rides. I think the bed gives her a sense of laying in her dog bed at home. This thing is a gem and makes car rides much more comfortable for my dog and me. It took quite a bit of assembling, but I wish I'd found it sooner!
For Dedicated Dog Car Space
Not sure if anyone thinks like me, but, in case you were wondering as I was - no this does not work in a third row seating. It was too wide to fit with the hard bottom on the seat with not enough leg room to fit. Plus it was not possible to get the dog in there, etc, it was just really not going to happen. This worked pretty well in the 2nd row which is much wider than this cover - but all the straps are adjustable. It takes a few minutes, so I got it ready before the dog knew there was going to be a car ride and got excited. I was thinking that I'd be able to fold it and only use half at a time, so I could still fit a kid in the car with the dog... but sadly this was also not the case. If you're spending a lot of time with just dogs in the 2nd row - it's way worth it to install this and just keep it there. It was a pretty nice little caccoon, and protected the seat from muddy paws. There's velcro openings for seatbelts and you can still reach the latch system for dog harnesses if you stick your hand in there. If you've got a chewer, or active rider, I'd watch out for paws and teeth getting stuck in the mesh pockets. Also, you need to help a very heavy or small dog that can not jump in and out to the seat. Mine steps up to the floor because she's still a puppy, yet is pretty heavy to lift. She was happy to go inside and laid calmly, though! I am not using this right now since I have to put kids in the car, and I can't be juggling kids and an excited giant breed puppy while I move this thing in and out. But I think it's just great if you are dedicating your back seat to pups frequently. Keeps those dirty paws contained and comfy! Great for pet parents.
Perfect
I had one of these and then I had a sick dog get in it. It didn't allow me to remove the panels so I could pop the entire thing in the wash. I ended up having to throw it away. When I found the Katziela backseat extender and it said it could go in the washing machine, I had to try it. It fits nicely in the backseat of the navigator. It's super easy to install and I love that it's got a bag to make it easy to store when not in use. Small messes and dirt wipes up easily. I love that putting it back into the bag doesn't require an engineering degree - it's almost instinctual. Really happy to have this tool available to me and my foster pups. My upholstery is going to get such a big break!
