The edible wafer paper butterflies come flat in a reclosable container. I haven't done much decorating before. Looking at the pictures, I thought they were shaped. I was able to gently bend the middle to give the butterfly a more realistic looking appearance and they looked very nice with sprinkles on top of chocolate cupcakes. They are basically tasteless, which made me happy because the decorations I've bought previously tasted horrible.
