Very comfortable after a few wears

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] read some bad reviews about the width but still took a chance. yes, the wide shoes are still feel narrow when you put them on for the first couple wears. don't let that bother you. wear them for a couple hours or so for a few days and they break in so well! this is my first pair of columbia shoes, hiking shoes in general, and i couldn't be happier. these shoes are super comfortable, fit perfectly to size. they've helped really well in the rain. tested a puddle step and felt nothing. 10/10 i would recommend these shoes in particular to anyone.

A true "wide" fit

I need a wide fit and the Redmond series provides this!

Quality Material...tongue cut too short

I like Columbia's waterproof hiking shoes/boots. The last pair I has lasted a long time. I still use them to mow the lawn in. This pair of shoes was meant to replace them however they just aren't comfortable. Specifically, the tongue of the shoe is too short. So short in fact that the shoe laces regularly slip off the tongue and then rest directly on the top part of my ankle/shin. I have tried to pull and pull the tongue hoping to stretch it to fit lol. Everything else about the shoes are comfortable but I could never wear these on a hike. Just imagine the blisters and discomfort that would come with the shoe lace directly on the skin or sock. I'll give this one more star than I would otherwise just because I generally like Columbia products. Hopefully this is a "one off" and the quality isn't shifting the wrong direction.
