Help out your winter feathered friends

Do what you can when you can for helping your community eat (free pantries/food banks) and helping your feathered friends get enough calories to make it through the night. I used another supplier from another website which shall not be named. They screwed up my account (now fixed) weeks later, and I came to Walmart. The mealworms provided 10% more product for the same price. Neither I nor my feathered friends (I feed to wild birds) could notice a difference. Please consider buying mealsworms as they are great for non-seed eating birds in the winter time. Also, Walmart has fantastic prices on black oil sunflower (but you need to watch the timing) which is the best nutritionally dense seed appealing to many, frequently cheaper than Tractor Supply...and delivered to boot. AND....consider making suet. I make mine with 4:1 lard:peanut butter, 1:1 cornmeal:flour. Melt lard, mix with conrmeal/flour until crumbly. Fat dense and will help your feathered friends feel less frantic in trying to make it through crippling storms that we are experiencing in 01/26. Warning: No fake sugars, no shorteningm no leavened products (with baking soda/powder).

These dried mealworms are a great value and are clean and fresh (no dust). I buy them for the bluebirds during the Winter since this is their favorite food, but I also attract cardinals, Juncos, Titmice and Chickadees.
