work great, very accurate

tried several conventional tachs, none would work right, a couple of them showed 200 rpm at idle. heard about this type of tach that reads off the alternator. You do need a test tach to calibrate it with but they are cheap and can be used for other things. I dont mind it being a 5,000 rpm tach instead of a 8,000 rpm, Its no race car, I put it in a ford ranger 2.3 that never gets past 4,000 rpm anyways. Not a cheap tach but works and very easy to install

Not impressed so far

Bought this for my squarebody chummins. First of all they recommend using a inline fuse which for some reason they dont supply nor do they tell you is even needed before you go to install it. Second the clamp came zip tied like a pretzel. No amount of manipulation will allow this thing to work at this point. I ended up just using zip ties to hold the probe on the alternator. For the price I could have gone with the Isspro setup that uses the balancer..
