Surprisingly frumpy

You would think a low-cut, waist defining stretchy black dress would be universally flattering. Not so. It is the absolute dowdiest length there is, which I should have realized. The fabric is super thin and cheap feeling, and does not drape nicely. The skirt is cut like a triangle but then out of this flimsy fabric. It's very weird. I have some older surplice dresses from Ralph Lauren, and they fit much better, are made of more substantial fabric, and are a more flattering length. I literally opened the box, tried it on, and returned it. However, I have not had any acknowledgment from Ralph Lauren about my return (other than the rma itself). Hopefully I actually do get a refund.
