All went well, I have it on a spinning reel, it might be a little to thick for that reel. I'm using it for river fishing from the shore, I wanted something heavy duty enough for night-fishing. Maybe the 30LBS line would have been a better fit for my spinning reel, we'll see how it goes. I use 20 LBS line at the end with the hook and sinker, that way when I get stuck, the 20 will break saving the 40 LBS from the abuse. It's for fishing the bottom at night, you never know what all might bite at night.
